Adjustable shelves provide the ultimate versatility. Whatever you own can fit. Whatever odd sized appliances or equipment or collection you have, adjustable shelves are your storage answer. Shelving stuck in place at some pre-ordained spacing, is an unnecessary constraint in the world of cabinets. 

Adjustable shelving is achieved by drilling a series of holes which allow for shelf pin holders to be repositioned to your customized height. It’s important with adjustable shelving to have boxes made of wood or plywood. Particle board sags quickly under the weight of the shelf and pin and is not a long-term option for adjustable shelving.  

We’ve demoed many kitchens and closets where shelves were nailed in place at particular intervals. Adding adjustable shelving doesn’t always mean replacing the entire box, but it can depending on the original materials used.  The best way is to make sure you have adjustable shelving built in initially.
